]]> On Saturday and Sunday, planes took to the skies over Bill Fluke Airfield in E.P. “Tom” Sawyer Park for Wings for Kids, a fundraising event for Norton Children’s Hospital presented by the IPA Foundation.

The 15th annual Wings for Kids airshow was hosted by River City Radio Controllers and featured radio-controlled airplane flying exhibitions, including aerobatic airplanes, Warbirds from World War I and World War II, turbine-powered jet aircraft and scale vintage planes. The event also featured fun activities for the whole family, including a candy drop, inflatables and flight simulators.

All proceeds from Wings for Kids benefited the Norton Children’s Hospital “Just for Kids” Transport Team. The transport team uses mobile intensive care unit ambulances, a helicopter and an airplane to bring nearly 2,000 children a year to Norton Children’s Hospital for specialized care.
